NEW ABBA ALBUM OUT SOON

ABBA is going to release a never-before-heard track “Twinkling Star to a Passing angel”. The chart-topping Swedish act dominated the music scene during the 70s. This marks their comeback after a hiatus of almost two decades. The band’s official website declared the release of this new demo song.

The demo for this song was originally meant to be a part of their 1981 studio album, “The Visitors”. However, the track did not make the final cut and after that it lay practically forgotten in the studio backroom for the last two decades.

This track will be their first new release since the early 90s, when they released a bunch of fresh songs for their compilation box set “Thank You For The Music”. This is the first time since 1994 that the band has released previously unreleased material that marks some of their best works.

ABBA was formed in 1973 and comprised of band mates Agnetha Faltskog, Anni-Frid Lyngstad, Bjorn Ulvaeus and Benny Andersson. Their song “Waterloo” won the Eurovision song title in 1974 after which they attained worldwide fame. This was followed by a string of albums and numerous hits such as “SOS”, “Dancing Queen”, “Take A Chance On Me”, “Mamma Mia”, “Money, Money, Money”, “Eagle”, “The Winner Takes It All” and several others.

Bjorn Ulvaeus and Agnetha Faltskog got married in 1971. A few years later Benny Andersson and Anni-Frid Lyngstad also got married. However, the band’s continuing worldwide success and much publicized life had its toll on their personal relationships and both the marriages ended in divorce. The strains also gradually showed in their musical career and the band finally dissolved their partnership by 1982.
